Arthropodium cirratum Matapouri Bay


Description:
An attractive hardy perennial, which flowers through spring to mid-summer, broad green, strap-like foliage, which has a distinct bluish hue.
Key Features:
Clusters of white star-shaped flowers which appear on airy panicles.
Cultural:
Will grow in most soil types, has a very low water requirement once established. Is drought tolerant, but frost tender. Ideal for coastal conditions. Spent flowers can be trimmed away from the base of the stem. Feed with a long term, slow release fertiliser in spring. Also recommentd the use of a slug/snail repellant.
Plant Landscape:
Can be used for mass plantings as a ground cover, under trees or on banks.
